I dont agree with arguments supporting Ottoman relation had never been normal to local Armenians. It is sufficient to remind Ottoman government had a number of Armenian origin high government officials, including 12 ministers. If we compare it to armenian population situation in modern Republic of Georgia, despite Armenians are largest national minority in terms of its count, they have never at least one high government body like minister.

A very intelligent and poignant site! It is so important the crimes of the 20th Century not be forgotten. Most modern Turks vehemently and ruthlessly deny that the Armenian Genocide ever occurred (one might say that it's cultural denial on a massive scale!). تنفر، ارمنی ستیزی، تحریف تاریخ و تبلیغات دروغین ترکها و آذری‌ها حد و حصری ندارد. جنگ قره‌باغ و کشتارهایی که در قبال ارامنه در شهرهای مختلف آذربایجان، از جمله در سومگایت، باکو، کیروفآباد توسط آذری‌ها انجام گرفت و منجر به اخراج حدود پانصد هزار ارمنی از آذربایجان شد، ادامه قتل‌عام بزرگ ارامنه در سال 1915 در ترکیه و همچنین ادامه همان سیاست پان‌ترکیسیتی می‌‌باشد که ارامنه قربانیان اصلی این سیاست بوده‌اند. بعضی‌ها که خود را بجای مورخ و دانشمند آگاه جا زده و تمامی حقایق را دقیقا وارونه جلوه می‌دهند، سعی می‌کنند واقعیت نژادکشی ارامنه را زیرسئوال ببرند، آمال و آرزوها و اهدافی که خود آذربایجانی‌ها برای تشکیل آذربایجان بزرگ به مرکز تبریز دارند، به ارامنه نسبت دهند و با تحریف واقعیات، حقایق را اینطور ارائه می‌کنند که ارامنه به خاک ایران چشم دارند. جهت آگاهی و افزایش معلومات تاریخی برخی جاهلان و جاعلان باید بگویم که باوجود اینکه ابنیه تاریخی ارمنی متعددی از جمله کلیسای تادئوس و استپانوس مقدس در نواحی مرزی شمالغرب ایران وجود دارد که قدمت آنها به 1500 سال می‌رسد و ارامنه از قدیم‌الایام در آنجا زندگی کرده‌اند، اما ارامنه و ارمنستان نه بطور رسمی و نه بطور غیر رسمی هیچ چشمداشتی و هیچگونه ادعای ارضی نسبت به خاک ایران نداشته و ندارند، هیچگاه هیچ مقام رسمی از ارمنستان چنین ادعایی نکرده است، حال آنکه آذربایجانی‌ها هم بطور رسمی و هم بطور غیر رسمی نسبت به خاک تاریخی ایران چشم دارند و بارها مقامات جمهوری آذربایجان از جمله ایلچی‌بیگ – رئیس‌جمهور وقت آذربایجان – استانهای آذربایجان شرقی و غربی، زنجان، اردبیل، قزوین را خاک جمهوری آذربایجان نامیده‌اند و خواستار جدایی آنها از ایران و الحاق آنها به جمهوری آذربایجان شده‌اند، در همین دوران ریاست‌جمهوری (یا در واقع سلطنت) خاندان علی‌اف‌ها استانهای ایرانی را آذربایجان جنوبی نامیده‌اند، در نقشه‌ای که توسط آکادمی ملی علوم جمهوری آذربایجان منتشر شده است، بخشهای وسیعی از ایران جز قلمرو جمهوری آذربایجان ارائه گردیده است و در کتب درسی مدارس آذربایجان نیز استانهای مذکور ایران را از آن جمهوری آذربایجان معرفی می‌کنند. همه اینها بارها مورد اعتراض مقامات و سفارت ایران در باکو بوده است. اصلا وجود کشوری به نام "جمهوری آذربایجان" خود جعلی است و در راستای غصب سرزمینهای ایرانی و تضعیف ایران بوده است. این خطه تا سال 1918 میلادی همواره در طول تاریخ اران و گاهاً آلبانیای قفقاز نام داشته است و در سال 1918 تحت فشار ترکیه و با موافقت روسهایی که درصدد اشغال نواحی شمالغرب ایران بودند، آنجا را "آذربایجان" نامیدند که این امر حتی خشم دربار ایران را در آن زمان برانگیخت و دولت سلطنتی ایران به این نامگذاری جعلی اعتراض کرد و پس از آنکه جمهوری آذربایجان جدیدالتاسیس جعلی در سال 1920 در ترکیب اتحاد شوروی قرار گرفت، این قضیه مختومه شد. آذربایجان واقعی در خاک ایران است و جمهوری آذربایجان کشوری جعلی است و برای تحقق سیاست پان‌ترکیستی ایجاد شده است. حالا چه کسی به خاک ایران چشم دارد!؟ ارامنه یا آذربایجانی‌ها!؟ این جمهوری آذربایجان است که قصد دارند با غصب سرزمینهای وسیعی از ایران و همچنین خاک ارمنستان و قره‌باغ، آذربایجان بزرگ تشکیل دهد. حال به مسئله قره‌باغ بپردازیم. چرا آذری‌ها هیچگاه چیزی در اینباره نمی‌گویند که این جمهوری آذربایجان بود که آغازگر جنگ قره‌باغ بود!؟ و آذری‌ها بودند که ابتدا به کشتار ارامنه در خاک آذربایجان دست زده و سپس جنگی گسترده را بر علیه قره‌باغ ارمنی‌نشین که می‌خواست از یوغ ظلم آذربایجان رها شده و استقلال یابد، بر ارامنه تحمیل کردند!؟ یا اینکه آذری‌ها انتظار داشتند اگر توپ و تفنگ بر علیه ارامنه بکار برند و جنگ آغاز کنند، ارامنه دست به مقاومت نمی‌بردند و همچون سال 1915 در ترکیه و سال 1988 در باکو و سومگایت، براحتی قتل‌عام می‌شدند!؟ اما، خیر، اینبار ارامنه از سال 1915 درس گرفته بودند که باید از خود دفاع کنند و می‌دانستند که اگر دست به مقاومت نزدند، همچون قتل‌عامهای انجام گرفته در ترکیه و شهر آذربایجان، اینبار نیز قتل‌عام خواهند شد. و از آنجائیکه ارامنه قره‌باغ برای خاک اجدادی و برای میهن خود می‌جنگیدند، پس ارامنه دلاورانه جنگیدند، با جان و دل، با شور و شعف جنگیدند و در طرف مقابل سربازان آذری چون برای سرزمین خود نمی‌جنگیدند، انگیزه‌ای برای جنگیدن نداشتند و حتی مجاهدینی (در اصل مزدورانی) از افغانستان، چچن و القاعده را به خدمت گرفتند. چرا آذری‌ها هیچگاه چیزی در اینباره نمی‌گویند که وقتی در سال 1920 میلادی جمهوری‌های نوپای ارمنستان و آذربایجان توسط ارتش سرخ اشغال گردیدند و در ترکیب قلمرو اتحاد شوروی قرار گرفتند، هم قره‌باغ و نواحی مجاور آن و هم منطقه نخجوان هر دو در ترکیب جمهوری ارمنستان قرار داشتند و آذربایجان حتی هیچگونه ادعایی نسبت به این مناطق نداشت! و بعدها در سال 1922 از انجائیکه ژوزف استالین – دیکتاتور شوروی –رفتار بسیار خصمانه‌ای نسبت به ارامنه‌ای که در سال 1920 از پذیرفتن کمونیسم به شدت خودداری می‌کردند، داشت و از سوی دیگر ترکها و آذری‌ها به رهبری آتاتورک خود را از حامیان سرسخت کمونیست وانمود می‌کردند، برای تنبیه ارامنه و قدردانی از آذری‌ها و ترکیه، قره‌باغ و نخجوان را از ترکیب ارمنستان در آورده و در ترکیب جمهوری آذربایجان قرار داد و بدین ترتیب بذر مناقشه و خصومتی نود ساله را میان ارامنه و آذری‌ها کاشت. طی قراردادی که میان روسها و ترکها منعقد گردید، قره‌باغی که طبق آمار رسمی در سال 1924، 95 درصد جمعیت آن ارمنی بود و نخجوانی که درپی قتل‌عام‌های ارامنه توسط ترکها و آذری‌ها جمعیت ارمنی آن بسیار تحلیل رفته بود اما با این حال نیمی از جمعیت آن ارمنی بود و هیچ سنخیتی نیز با خاک آذربایجان نداشت، از ارمنستان جدا شدند و در ترکیب آذربایجان قرار گرفتند. شایان ذکر است که طی هفتاد سال حکومت کمونیستها، جمعیت ارمنی قره‌باغ از 95 درصد در سال 1924 به 85 در سال 1988 کاهش یافته بود اما در نخجوانی که تحت کنترل آذربایجان قرار گرفته بود، سیاستی در قبال ارامنه به اجرا گذارده شد و در آنجا شرایطی برای ارامنه بوجود آوردند که ارامنه با پای خودشان نخجوان را ترک کنند و در واقع طی نسل‌کشی سفید، نخجوانی که جزئی از میهن تاریخی ارامنه بود، در دوران کمونیست از جمعیت ارمنی تخلیه شد و امروز نخجوان دیگر جمعیت ارمنی ندارد. یکی از دلایلی که ارامنه قره‌باغ اینبار دست به مقاومت زدند، الگوی همین نخجوان بود، چرا که می‌دانستند اگر در ترکیب آذربایجان باقی می‌مانند، در پی سیاستهای پان‌ترکیستی قطعاً به سرنوشت نخجوان دچار می‌شدند و قره‌باغ نیز از جمعیت ارمنی تخلیه می‌شد. تحریف تاریخی دیگری که اغلب از جانب ترکها صورت می‌گیرد، نام واقعی کوه آرارات است، کوهی که همواره مظهر استواری ملت ارمنی بوده است، باید عرض کنم که نام واقعی این کوه از قدیم‌الایام آرارات بوده و آرارت باقی خواهد ماند، تحریف نام این کوه از آرارات به "آغری داغ" از جانب ترکها صورت گرفته است تا تعلق آنرا به ارامنه کتمان سازند. این امر در راستای سیاست ترکیه در تغییر نام‌های ارمنی هر چیزی از جمله نامهای اماکن، کوهها و گونه‌های جانوری، از ارمنی به ترکی صورت گرفته است. همه عالم و آدم، کل جهان این کوه را آرارات می‌نامند و ترکها اگر بخود زحمت دهند و عهد قدیم انجیل را که قدمتی 2000 ساله دارد بخوانند، متوجه خواهند شد که نام این کوه در آنجا آرارات ذکر شده است، جائیکه کشتی نوح پس از طوفان بر روی آن فرود آمد. (برای جاعلان جاهل ذکر کنیم که انجیل توسط ارامنه نوشته نشده است). گویا ترکها به تحریف و جعل نامهای غیر ترک عادت دارند، از جمله تغییر نام "اران" به آذربایجان، کوه "آرارات" به "آغری داغ" و نامهای ارمنی تعدادی از گونه‌های جانوری در ترکیه. در پایان در رابطه با ادعای برخی دوستان مبنی براینکه نژادکشی ارامنه 95 سال قبل اتفاق افتاده و دیگر یک مسئله تاریخی است و ربطی به امروز ندارد، باید گفت که این نگاه بسیار کوته‌اندیشانه‌ است. چرا که تبعات وحشتناک و اسفبار آن پس از گذشت 95 سال، امروز هم بر دوش ملت ارمنی سنگینی می‌‌کند. مهمترین آن این است که در پی این نسل‌کشی، همین امروز حدود 10 میلیون ارمنی در خارج از میهن خود یعنی خارج از ارمنستان و آناتولی (شرق ترکیه) زندگی می‌کنند و در سرتاسر جهان آمریکا، روسیه، اروپا، لبنان، سوریه پراکنده هستند. اگر آن مسئله تاریخی است و ربطی به امروز ندارد، پس با این حساب باید گفت که اگر بخشی اعظم ملتی را قتل‌عام کردی، نابود کردی و بعد 6/5 سرزمین اجدادی آنرا غصب نمودی و بعد بعلت وقایع بعدی، (منظور قرار گرفتن ارامنه در یوغ کمونیسم و شوروی) ملت ستمدیده هفتاد سال فرصت احیای حقوق پایمال شده خود را نیافت، پس باید پرونده آنرا بست و تا ابد آنرا به فراموشی سپرد، ملت و دولتی هم که نسل‌کشی کرده مجازات نشود و ملت ستمدیده هم از آن دلجویی نشود!؟ درصورتی که عادلانه قضاوت کنی، خواهید دید اگر اینگونه باشد، سنگ روی سنگ بند نمی‌شود و اوضاع نابسامان و آشفته امروز منطقه ما نتیجه این است که حق به حق‌دار نرسیده است، عدالت برقرار نشده است، امروز ظالم همچنان می‌تازد و ستمدیده همچنان ستم می‌بیند. مسئله قره‌باغ و نخجوان ادامه همان سیاست و نژادکشی صورت گرفته در ترکیه است. پس مسئله نسل‌کشی ارامنه، مسئله امروز است، پرونده آن بسته نشده و عدالت باید برقرار شود، چه در مورد مسئله نژادکشی ارامنه در ترکیه در سالهای 1915-1923 و چه در مورد مسئله قره‌باغ و نخجوانی که به زور و بطور مصنوعی از ارمنستان جدا شده و در ترکیب آذربایجان قرار گرفته است.

ادای احترام به یاد قربانیان نژادکشی ارامنه در ترکیه برای اولین بار "این غم، غم ماست، این سوگ، سوگ همگی ما" 19 آوریل (30 فروردین) گروهی از اندیشمندان ترک شامل خبرنگاران معروف، دانشمندان شناخته شده، هنرمندان مشهور، رجال اجتماعی و سیاسی پیامی را با این تیتر منتشر ساخته‌اند. آنها طی پیام منتشر شده در سایت اینترنتی "های‌ترت" استانبول، فراخوانی می‌کنند ساعت 19:00 روز 24 آوریل در میدان "تقسیم" استانبول گردهم آمده و به یاد قربانیان قتل‌عام بزرگ 1915 ادای احترام نمایند. در این پیام آمده است: "در سال 1915 وقتی جمعیت کشورمان 13 میلیون بود، 5/1-2 میلیون ارمنی در این کشور، در تراکیه، مناطق ساحلی دریای اژه، آدانا، مالاتیا، وان، قارص، ... در ساماتیا، شیشلی، جزایر سلطان، گالاتا و غیره زندگی می‌کردند... آنها خواربارفروش، خیاط، طلاساز، نجار و کفاش کوچه ما، زارع و آسیابان روستا، همکلاسی، معلم، افسر و آجودان، نماینده مجلس، مورخ، ترانه‌سرا و ... ما بودند. همگی آنها هم دوستان ما بودند. همسایه و همدرد ما در تراکیه، در حوزه دریای اژه، آدانا، مالاتیا، وان، قارص و ... در ساماتیا، شیشلی، جزایر سلطان، گالاتیا و ... (از محله‌های استانبول) بودند. در 24 آوریل 1915 شروع کردند آنها را "نقل‌مکان دهند" و ما آنها را از دست دادیم. دیگر وجود ندارند. اکثریت آنها با ما نیست. حتی قبر ندارند. "غم بزرگ" ترحمی که قتل‌عام بزرگ آنرا موجب شد، با کل سنگینی خود 95 سال متوالی ادامه دارد و پیوسته افزایش می‌یابد. ما تمامی اهل ترکیه را که این غم را در ته دل خود احساس می‌کنند، برای تعظیم و ادای احترام در برابر یاد و خاطره قربانیان سال 1915 فرا می‌خوانیم، سیاه‌پوش و ساکت، با شمع‌ها و گل‌هایی که برای روح آنها پیش‌بینی شده‌اند... زیرا این غم، غم ماست و این سوگ، سوگ همگی ما. 24 آوریل سال 2010 ساعت 19:00 میدان "تقسیم" امضا‌کنندگان فراخوان : احمد اینسل، علی بایرام‌اغلو، علی هالیگوا، باسکن اوران، چنگیز آکتار، دنیز چاراکولو، فرهاد کنتل، فتحیه چتین، خلیل برکتای، لاله منصور، عثمان کیوکر، اوفوک اوراس، ویوت کانِت، هایکو بغداد، کارو پایلان، یاسمین چونگار، زینب گامبت و دیگران... Yesterday during our memorial services we had a wonderful time, the Armenian community gathered outside Central Memorial Park. All generations were involved, William Bghazar a respectful older Armenian shared with us his families history, and his own story and how he was treated by the rule of the ottoman empire and how the genocide started, and young children were all reading a poem together in Armenian. I am Jessica Basmajian, and truly proud to call myself an Armenian, although we may not all live in the same land, we are now just as strong worldwide. Our community in Calgary is just beging to grow may you all keep us in your prayers so that we may stay strong. Thank you for this wonderful website.

سلام متاسفانه بیشتر کامنتهایی که گذاشته شده به جای یادآوری درد و رنج صدها هزار انسان به اغراض سیاسی آلوده شده است. دیشب در یکی از کانالهای ترکیه میزگردی درباره حوادث سال 1915 تماشا کردم. آقای هایکو باغداد از ارامنه ترکیه مطلب بسیار جالبی گفت او گفت که مسئولیت اخلاقی ترکها ادای احترام به کسانی است که روزگاری در این کشور می زیستند ولی اکنون کمتر از 60 هزار نفرند اما تکرار مداوم این مساله و تبلیغاتی کردن آن بویژه از سوی تندروهای ارامنه دشمنی میان ترکها و ارامنه را بیشتر کرده است. به نظرم او راست می گوید هر سال ارامنه تندرو پرچم ترکیه و گاهی آذربایجان را در روز 24 آوریل به آتش می کشند و انتظار دارند که ترکها با شرمندگی به جانی بودن اجداد خود اعتراف کنند. در حالی که این اقدامات تنها حس دفاع از خود و انکار موضوع را به دنبال خواهد داشت. بنده بعنوان یک انسان آذربایجانی وطن پرست از مصیبتهای وارد آمده بر ارامنه در سال 1915 بسیار متاسفم رقم تلفات انسانی اصلا مهم نیست حتی اگر یک نفر بیگناه کشته شده باشد فاجعه ای بزرگ است. اما روی سخن من با داشناکها و کسانی که به مسلمانان ترک و آذری رحم نکردند و در همان سالهای در شرق ترکیه و آذربایجان غربی و در سالهای اخیر در قره باغ به قتل انسانهای بیگناه پرداختند نیست. روی سخن من با مردم ارمنی است انسانهای عادی کوچه و بازار و روستایی و کشاورز و .. . ! اگر در مصیبت وارده بر شما در سال 1915 سوگوارید ما را در غم خود شریک بدانید.

The documentaries suzanne khardalian Holmquist mentioned below (like many other) are full of mouth-to-mouth words and ilvoves no evidence. In fact genocide claimers don't need to show evidence because they know that it's much easier to impress and manipulate people by showing them cryig people and telling painfull stories. The words like "by Turks" "by Turkish State" in their documentary shows that they feel an intense hostility and anger towards Turkey. This is caused mainly because they couldn't achive their dream to take land from Ottomans and establish a state in WWI. Turkish, Russian and other interanional 3rd party archives are full of documents proving that thousands of Armenians constituted armed troops and attacked Turkish villages and slaughtered them. But in the end they fell into their own trap and now they feel intense anger to Turks and desire for our land. But this is not goint to work.

خاله فاطوش ارمنی بود. یکی از دوستام اهل یکی از روستاهای دیاربکر در کردستان ترکیه که الان کارگردان تلویزیون می باشد روزی ماجرائی را برای من تعریف کرد که تا ابد فراموش نخواهم کرد. دوستم دیلان در باره پیرزنی در روستایشان میگفت که اسمش فاطوش بوده. فاطوش هنگامیکه دیلان دختر خردسالی بوده همیشه لباس سیاه به تن داشته و هر روز به صحرا میره. دیلان روزی از مادرش می پرسه خاله فاطوش هر روز کجا میره. مادر دیلان می گه از خودش بپرس بهتره. دیلان 14 ساله کنجکاو روزی دنبال خاله فاطوش راه می افته و میبینه که خاله فاطوش به نقطه ای می رسه و نزدیک یک ساعت اونجا می شینه و گریه می کنه. خاله فاطوش بعد از چند ماه در سن 65 سالگی فوت می کنه. مادر دیلان تنها بعد ار مرگ خاله فاطوش تعریف می کنه که خاله فاطوش دختر یک خانواده ارمنی بوده که همه اعضا خانواده اش را از جمله خواهر و برادرهایش در مقابل چشمانش در چاهی در آن محل انداخته اند. فاطوش شش ساله توسط یک خانواده کرد نجات پیدا می کنه و برایش اسم فاطمه انتخاب می کنند ولی فاطمه که فاطوش صدایش می زنند هیچوقت این صحنه را فراموش نمی کنه و همیشه با آمدن بهار به بالای آن چاه می رفته و با اعضای خانواده اش بوده....دیلان ولی آرزویی داره که روزی بتونه فیلم خاله فاطوش ارمنی را بسازه.

I have a concern about the previous submission. Of course it's vary bad to move people from their villages but it's a very serious thing when you claim that slaughtering people is a "planned" action. Hello! In 1915 many Armenians in Eastern Anatolia lived a great tragedy. Some of them were killed, some of them were forced to move to some other lands of Ottoman Empire. But this case does not fit in the definition of genocide. Besides, what Armenian Diaspora today does, is -unfortunatelly- is "cropping" just their side of the truth, and -unfortunattelly" reflect it by exaggerating and agitatign. Historical records show that around 500.000 Turkish villagers died or killed in struggles in Anatolia. Why not anyone mention them? This case in no way resembles the Jew Genocide. Whatever happened in the past is happened. It's over, it's history. What must be done today is to develop good relations and look forward. History is of course important but present and the future must not be sacrifised for the past. In this regard, what Armenian diaspora is doing is actually to harm their own nation. I wonder if they know how it feels like living in Yeravan or an other Armenian city. Making your own identification by a pathetic feeling and positioning yourself by referencing an illusional enemy or killer is not healthy for you, and your next generations. İt is unpossible to believe this genocide. There are a lot of photos which prove that the armenians had killed the Turks.But i dont say that the armenians hadnt die during the forced emigration.The ottoman Turks had to make this forced emigration because the Armenian Terrorists murdered a lot of Turkish villagers during the war.There is no genocide here.there was only war.Both of the citizens had died.
